Shortly after the market closed, Adobe Systems (ADBE: sentiment, chart, options) reported fourth-quarter net income of $245.9 million, or 46 cents per share. Excluding items, earnings for the quarter arrived at 60 cents per share, besting Wall Street's view of 57 cents per share. Meanwhile, revenue rose to $915.3 million, falling shy of analysts' expectations for $917.7 million in revenue.

The stock posted a strong rally heading into the report, adding nearly 4.5%. In after-hours trading, ADBE has gained another 4.7% to hover near $23.40 per share. However, as my colleague Jocelynn Drake noted in her pre-earnings analysis, the stock could find trouble in the 23-24 area due to the presence of ADBE's 10-week moving average. "The security has been capped by resistance at its declining 10-week moving average since early September," Drake noted.

Meanwhile, sentiment toward the shares is mixed, but traders should pay close attention to the analyst community. Specifically, 12 of the 21 brokerage firms following ADBE rate it a "hold" or worse. Despite the bearish bias, this configuration leaves plenty of room for either upgrades or downgrades. Look for the analyst community to weigh in ahead of the open tomorrow morning.
